Day 2: When Pigs Fly

9 Jan

I am a newspaper delinquent.  I keep buying the paper fully intending to read it, it just rarely happens.  I want to know what’s going on in the world, I really do, but I just can’t seem to get past all the misery and mayhem.  It’s so depressing.  Yesterday’s headlines are “2 HOURS OF TERROR,” “JAIL SUICIDE ALARM,” “HIT-RUN DRIVER SOUGHT”… freakin’ miserable!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just once I’d like to see something positive as a headline.  How about “PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST,” “AIDS CURE FOUND,” “AN END TO POVERTY”??????  Wouldn’t that be just peachy?  To sit down with your coffee and the morning paper to read something that made you genuinely smile?  I wonder when that’ll happen….

Which brings me to today’s giggle.  For some reason, I woke up with collage on the brain….I just went with it.  Here’s what I came up with.

Yeah……   Is it my best work?  No.  Did I get a good giggle in while making it?  Most definitely.  The real question is:  What should I do with it now?  Does anyone have the address for the editor of Newsday?…..
